Haiti: JetBlue to Include Additional Seats during Summer Season

JetBlue Announces Summer Flight Schedule for Haiti

New York JFK to Port-au-Prince Route to Include Additional Seats during Summer Season

NEW YORK — (June 4, 2019) — JetBlue (NASDAQ:JBLU) has announced its summer schedule for flights from four of its focus cities to Haiti, which will include additional seats on flights between Port-au-Prince’s Toussaint Louverture International Airport (PAP) and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).

JetBlue offers service between more U.S. cities and Port-au-Prince than any other airline, with nonstop flights between Port-au-Prince and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), and Orlando International Airport (MCO). To meet increased demand for travel, JetBlue will operate one of its daily flights from JFK with larger A321 aircraft, which represents a 5% increase in seats over the summer period in 2018.

“We’re pleased to offer our customers a robust summer schedule that meets their demand for travel to Port-au-Prince,” said Giselle Cortes, director of international airports at JetBlue. “We remain committed to offering award-winning service at competitive fares for the Haitian community, and we will continue to review the demand for travel, ensuring that our flights and capacity match the demand in place.”

The Future of JetBlue is Coming to Haiti

JetBlue’s philosophy is to offer exceptional customer service at competitive fares and to ensure that every customer, whether traveling for the first time with JetBlue or as a frequent flyer, enjoys the award-winning customer experience travelers have come to love, with free inflight entertainment, unlimited snacks and drinks, and the most legroom in coach (a).

Recently, JetBlue announced that its Airbus A320 aircraft, which make up the majority of the airline’s fleet, are being updated for the first time since the airline disrupted the industry with onboard live television and all-leather seats in 2000. Its newest cabin experience is bringing to the skies the widest seats available for this aircraft, custom-designed seatback inflight entertainment (IFE) with 100+ channels of DIRECTV and hundreds of free movies and shows, ability to pair your mobile device to the screen and easy-to-reach power sources at every seat. A major focus of the restyling is keeping customers connected throughout their flight, including continued free gate-to-gate Fly-Fi high-speed internet with an expanded coverage area – including throughout the Caribbean and Latin America, where Fly-Fi had not been available until now (b). For most of JetBlue’s 100+ destinations, the A320 restyle will bring the upgraded JetBlue experience to their city for the first time. Very soon, expect a renewed aircraft in a city near you.
